Matt Wycoff was born in Anderson, South Carolina in 1980 and moved to Kansas City in 1998. He is a 2002 graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute Sculpture Department. Matt Wycoff is an artist, writer, freelance journalist, and musician. Wycoff is the recipient of the 2004-2005 Urban Culture Project Studio Residency. He was one of six artists chosen to participate in the 2005 Avenue of the Arts public art program, a program that grants money to artists for the creation of temporary public art in downtown Kansas City and he was selected for a 2007 residency at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art in Omaha, Nebraska. Most recently he is preparing for a solo exhibition of his work at RARE Gallery, (521 W. 26 th Street NY, N.Y.) in New York City. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
